Sanne van Gent “The accidental perfection of nature”

I aim to take nature and landscapes, or what I consider to be nature and landscapes, out of their embedded context and to exaggerate the already unclear line between what belongs to nature and what is part of the man-made world. I emphasise the interaction between different natural and man-made elements, materials and textures, both in terms of functionality and appearance. The series ‘The Accidental Perfection of Nature’ shows four black-and-white photographs of different landscapes made out of sand that vary in level of naturalness/artificiality.
