Gershon Kreimer "Distortions"

The Distortions came about from a desire to transgress the customary notions of nude photography. Nudes are most often portrayed as pleasing objects, which are placed in the frame for aesthetic or sexual reasons. Rarely, are the models presented as subjects of the image, and by that I mean that the model is the subject only when the psychology of the model is taken into account in the image. The distortions then become a marginalizing effect, making the image psychologically indeterminable. There is a psychology involved; yet in this case, it is hidden from the viewer.
