| In this series of works, I used HDR (high dynamic range) technique to create a single image that contains the optimal data of all the photographs that I scanned. I chose the artwork of the most known masters of western photography because I wanted to explore their influence on the medium of photography, especially in the digital era we are facing today. The HDR technique was design to select the best details of the photographs and to let go from the "unnecessary" details, for creating the "perfect" file. Certainly, the HDR file is far from being perfect, it is unclear and blocked, and full of gaps. The image is not unified but it is decentralized and dispersed. The HDR file is an object that contains large archive of images but the viewer cannot disassemble it to isolated fractions. www.kerenzaltz.com |
